INSTALLATION OF PUBLIC ADDRESS & VOICE SYSTEMS IN REAL MADRID'S NEW
The public address system is one of the most important for safety in a large building or sports complex, since it is the essential tool for any evacuation plan. This is because it allows messages and instructions to be sent in the fastest possible way to all areas of the complex.
Ruybesa Telephony and Audiovisual Services was commissioned to design and implement a sound system in the main stand of the uncovered stadium, on the steps of the indoor stadium and in various other outdoor and indoor spaces such as parking lots, offices, technical areas, locker rooms, press rooms, etc.
The public address system management was centralized in one of the rear areas of the complex. The notification service, server, control components and amplification of the entire system was installed in this control centre.
The system integrates not only the physical devices of the PA system with control software, but also the internal signal distribution network and necessary hardware.
Using a computer-server, all parameters of the PA system can be controlled, thus aiding system management and verification..
Software development for the control system
In this case, the software features six distinct parts:
- User interface.
- Central Control.
- Public address server.
- Audio processing.
- Remote control.
User interface
This part concerns the touchscreens for the microphone system and is the basis of the public address system. Messages are delivered to different areas of the installation simply by touching the desired area or areas. The software used with the microphones can be configured entirely to suit each customer’s specific needs.
Central control
This software has no graphical or user interface, but performs automatic and physical checks on all systems to ensure they are working properly.
Public address server
This server is responsible for processing all signals and controls of the whole system in order to display them for the user, such as amplifier flags for audio assigned areas or any configurable parameter. It is via this server that the system adjusts settings of equalizers, noise gates, compressor levels, expanders, etc.
Audio processing
This is an industrial system equipped with high-performance DSP processors for applying required changes. There are two screens, one for the user, which is used to set the parameters required for daily operation, and another for password protected system settings.
Remote control
The public address system is not a single system but a work system over Ethernet network, and as such it can be controlled from multiple points used to set parameters required for daily operation. This system can not only be connected to an Ethernet network, but also by point to point line and to the internet.
