LAST TECHNOLOGIES FOR CONTROL OF TUNNELS IN BARCELONA

On Wednesday, Ruybesa’s Control Division finalized the installation and commissioning of a DAI (Automatic Event Detection) control system for the Jorda-Besós tunnel, which covers a branch of the Dalt round, in Barcelona.

This is the first of a series of projects in the ring roads of this city that we are pleased to be part of, providing complete solutions equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

The system in question is composed of a series of cameras associated with a specific control software in addition to a powerful recording system. With this type of media you can detect incidents in tunnels such as stopped vehicles, retentions, possible objects on the road, vehicles circulating in opposite direction or the presence of pedestrians. There are also mini domes cameras controlling both the emergency exits and the accesses to the technical rooms and monitoring the SOS posts as well as the tunnels’ mouths.

These facilities are part of the works programmed to cover most of the Ronda de Dalt, which manages 175,000 vehicles a day at high speed, hence the importance of providing it with an optimal system for maximum safety in the traffic through it. It will be taken as a reference, following the same criterion of equipment and facilities for the others, since it has considerable advantages to overcome the security problems suffered by urban long tunnels.

Thanks to the trust that this type of client gives us, such as COMSA, which has more than a century of experience in the infrastructures and industrial engineering sector, we can continue to grow in different areas, in addition to audiovisual.
